Football is finally back.
The Kentucky Wildcats take on the Central Michigan Chippewas in Lexington for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff at Kroger Field.
The Wildcats have high expectations for themselves in 2018, though public opinion ranges anywhere from a 9-3 season to a losing season. Kentucky certainly has the potential for success this year with a talented roster and a lot of veteran experience.
To set the tone for this year, the Wildcats need a win in Week 1. UK is the heavy favorite over Central Michigan in ESPN’s Football Power Index, as the metric gives the Wildcats an 88.7 percent chance to win. This is certainly a game that the experts have penciled in as a win for the Wildcats, as it’s one of the most winnable games on the schedule for UK.
With a win, UK would also help erase the struggles it ended last year with, as the Wildcats went 1-4 over their last five games last year.
It’s football time in the bluegrass again. Feel free to share your thoughts on this week’s matchup during the game in the comments below.
