The Kentucky Wildcats are in the the Bahamas for a four-game, eight-day trip from Aug. 6-13. UK will train on the island and play four professional teams during its stay as it prepares for the 2018-19 college basketball season.
For those not making the trip to the Atlantis on Paradise Island, have no fear. The SEC Network will broadcast all four exhibition games. It will feature the ESPN college basketball announce crew of Tom Hart (play-by-play), Seth Greenberg (analyst) and Dan Dakich (why?).
Thankfully, if you’d rather listen to a good old fashioned radio broadcast, the UK Sports Network team of Tom Leach and Mike Pratt will be on the mic. They will call all four games on 630-WLAP, its affiliates across the state, on UKathletics.com and the UK Athletics app.
NCAA rules allow for a foreign tour by an college team once every four academic years. The last time Kentucky did this was prior to going 38-1 during the 2014-15 college hoops season.
This team certainly has the talent to have that kind of special season, and this will be a great slate of tests for them before the real season begins.
