Dontaie Allen will be taking an official visit to Kentucky for Big Blue Madness on October 12, according to his travel team.
Allen is one of three Kentucky commitments in the 2019 class, along with Tyrese Maxey and Khalil Whitney. While he is in town, Allen will be actively trying to recruit a fourth member to the class.
That would be Vernon Carey Jr., whom will also be attending Big Blue Madness.
Carey, the #3 ranked player in the nation per ESPN, has garnered more interest with Kentucky in recent weeks after being considered a heavy Duke lean. Whether or not Allen does any major recruiting, having both of these guys together with Big Blue Madness’ atmosphere is a major win for Kentucky in the Carey sweepstakes.
Allen will also be living what must be a Kentucky native’s dream: Being a basketball commit and living out Big Blue Madness with the fans before doing it as a player. Allen’s commitment being a native of Falmouth was the feel-good moment of the summer for Big Blue Nation, and it continues to be now.
