ESPN has updated their recruiting rankings for the 2019 class, and the Kentucky Wildcats now have a pair of recruits ranked in the top nine.
The highest is five-star guard Tyrese Maxey, who checked in at No. 7 and is the top-ranked shooting guard. He’s now a top-10 recruit at ESPN and 247 Sports.
Five-star wing Kahlil Whitney now holds the No. 9 overall spot. He too is a top-10 recruit at ESPN and 247. He and Maxey are also consensus five-star recruits.
Kentucky also has a pledge from Dontaie Allen, who is now a four-star prospect ranked No. 91 overall. He’s now a consensus four-star recruit.
Four-star center Oscar Tshiebwe, a very strong Kentucky target who will visit next month, is now at No. 32 overall and the ninth-best center.
At the top, it’s still James Wiseman, Cole Anthony and Vernon Carey taking the top three spots. Other Kentucky targets in this ranking include Jaden McDaniels (5), Matthew Hurt (6), Bryan Antoine (12) and Scottie Lewis (13).
Keion Brooks, who was once thought to be a strong Kentucky target, has tumbled all the way down to No. 33. He had a rough summer and is now a four-star recruit.
Former Kentucky commitment DJ Jeffries took a small dip down to No. 21 overall and is still a five-star recruit.
