The Ohio State investigation into its own football program after Brett McMurphy’s ground-breaking report is over, and we’re exactly where we thought we’d be: Urban Meyer is still the head coach of the Buckeyes.
He is, however, suspended for three games. But considering there’s evidence he covered up domestic violence allegations against former assistant coach Zach Smith, that’s not exactly a severe punishment.
Meyer isn’t allowed to have contact with the team until Sept. 2. He then can rejoin the team, but can’t coach until game four. He’ll miss the Buckeyes’ games against Oregon State, Rutgers and No. 16 TCU.
Ohio State’s athletics director, Gene Smith, has also been placed on suspension. His suspension will span from Aug. 31 to Sept. 16.
