The fine folks at 247 Sports have updated their recruiting rankings for the Class of 2019.
The Kentucky Wildcats were arguably the biggest benefactor of this, as they now have two top-10 recruits. They’re actually the only school to have even one top-10 player, the highest of which being Kahlil Whitney.
The five-star wing has surged up the rankings and now holds the No. 6 overall spot. He’s followed by Tyrese Maxey, who checks in at No. 10.
Needless to say, those two alone are a tremendous foundation for a recruiting class, but Kentucky also has a pledge from Dontaie Allen, who is now ranked No. 84 overall. He actually dropped a spot after his breakout summer.
One of the biggest risers in this ranking was Oscar Tshiebwe, a five-star center who Kentucky could be on the verge of offering (and possibly landing). He’s now at No. 19 overall.
At the top, it’s still James Wiseman, Cole Anthony and Vernon Carey taking the top three spots. Other Kentucky targets in this ranking include Jaden McDaniels (4), Matthew Hurt (8), Scottie Lewis (11), Keion Brooks (12) and Bryan Antoine (16)
Kofi Cockburn (38) and Aidan Igiehon (51) were two players Kentucky was at one point rumoured to be interested in, but recent reports suggest neither is a realistic option in 2019.
Jalen Lecque, who just cut Kentucky after scoring an offer over the summer, dropped down to No. 35.
Former Kentucky commitment DJ Jeffries dropped down to No. 68 overall.
