Friday Quickies: Dogs Edition

John Calipari likes what he sees from P.J. Washington and Keldon Johnson

Keldon Johnson Jason Marcum - Sea of Blue

The old adage is that to win in basketball, you need a couple dogs.

John Calipari thinks he has that on this year’s squad, and two of them would appear to be Keldon Johnson and P.J. Washington.

Washington and Johnson shown in the Bahamas how important they can be to this team, as both guys displayed a lot of versatility, energy, and the ability to dunk on opponents.

Washington is one of the rare talents in the John Calipari era at Kentucky that returns for a sophomore year. Johnson has earned some rave reviews from Calipari, who called him one of the five best players in the country.

By the end of the season, I think we will be talking about Johnson and Washington as two of the best players on this squad.

Tweet of the Day

Revisiting the Bahamas wouldn’t be a bad idea.
