CBS ranks all the John Calipari one-and-done players at Kentucky

No. 1 is quite obvious, but what about the rest?

John Calipari has now brought 25 one-and-done players through the Kentucky Wildcats Basketball program. It’s been nearly a decade of producing the most NBA talent in the country.

To mark this top 25, CBS Sports’ Kyle Boone ranked the 25 in order of their college production. It’s no surprise who’s at No. 1.

Anthony Davis ranks atop the list, as he was the leader of John Calipari’s National Championship team. Davis was the National Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and the Final Four MOP

Davis was the most dominant UK freshman to ever play for the Wildcats — a title that would be tough to lose given his sheer impact for a Kentucky team that finished 38-2 and won the national championship. He went on to be the first pick of the draft in 2012.

There are few surprises on the list. De’Aaron Fox and Malik Monk are ranked eighth and ninth, which seems low, considering they were the driving forces of Kentucky’s Elite Eight run that was very nearly a National Championship run.

Granted, they worked more as a tandem than as individual stars, but Fox emerged as one of the top point guards in the country late in the year, and Monk electrified the college basketball world with his 47-point performance against North Carolina in the regular season.

It’s still hard to argue with the ranking, as six of the seven players above them went to the Elite Eight or further.
