The Kentucky Wildcats continue their quest for Bahamian basketball domination tonight at 7:00 PM on the SEC Network. They are sitting at 2-0 with back-to-back convincing wins of the Bahamas Select team and a professional team out of Argentina.

Tonight is the big test as the Cats take on Mega Bemax out of Serbia. This club has produced numerous NBA players and they have a few prospects on the team right now. The NBA has sent scouts from almost every team in the league to check out this match up.

The fan base is already excited enough based on the team’s first two games. Imagine if they win convincingly tonight.

Quickies

Tyler Herro drawing ‘silly’ comparisons | Courier-Journal- Tyler Herro has been a revelation during these games in the Bahamas. He’s been a scoring machine and has the Big Blue Nation swooning over his outside shot. But when he’s being compared to great players of the past, there is one common theme: they’re all white. Rex Chapman has as issue with that and says that the player he would compare Herro to is Devin Booker. I actually love that comparison.

Behind Kentucky Basketball Podcast | CoachCal.com- TJ Beisner has done an excellent job of bringing the Kentucky basketball team closer to the fans. In this podcast he goes behind the scenes in the Bahamas and has a chat with Tyler Herro.

Ashton Hagans adds toughness | Courier-Journal- If there is one thing that John Calipari loves it’s toughness. Ashton Hagans has been a bulldog on defense and is earning the reputation as one of the toughest players on the team. Opposing guards take notice.

Breaking down players’ minutes in the Bahamas | Cats Pause- I was actually shocked at the breakdown here. Top minutes go to Immanuel Quickley and Nick Richards is WAY lower than I thought he would be.

Maci Morris scores 24 in Italian trip finale | UK Athletics- The women’s hoops squad is on a foreign trip of their own in Italy. Matthew Mitchell is trying to get his team ready for the season in hopes of not missing the tournament for a second year in a row.

Jordan Wright ready for opportunity at linebacker | Cats Pause- With Josh Paschal’s cancer diagnosis there will be minutes available at linebacker. Redshirt freshman Jordan Wright is running second team behind Boogie Watson but he’s been making strides.

Josh Allen is ready for the spotlight | Lexington Herald Leader- Josh Allen is being tabbed as one of, if not the best linebacker draft prospects in the country. Last season he let the hype affect his play. But this year he is ready to show up and show out.

Kentucky football to win the SEC | For Whom the Cowbell Tolls- Well...not really. The fine folks over at FWTCBT predicted the SEC season by flipping a coin. And Kentucky wins the conference according to their prediction methodology.

Coach K not concerned about Zion Williamson’s weight | CBS- There's been a running joke about Zion’s weight but now that joke seems to have legs. The Duke freshman is clocking in at 285 pounds at 6’6. K says he’s not worried because Zion can jump higher that everybody. OK, that’s fine. How’s his conditioning? Is he ready for Reid Travis to punch him in the mouth in the paint? Didn’t think so.

Jon Gruden returns to Oakland’s sidelines | ESPN- Gruden made his second debut as Raiders head coach last night in their first preseason game. The crowd welcomed him with a loud ovation and his team won 16-10 over the Lions.

Former MLB pitcher faces life in prison | CBS- Esteban Loaiza played for 14 teams in his long career as a major league pitcher. But now that seems like a lifetime ago as he plead guilty to federal drug charges.

Sam Darnold impresses in debut for Jets | Sporting News- The rookie QBs are looking good in the preseason. Josh Allen, Baker Mayfield, and Lamar Jackson have all impressed early and Sam Darnold is on the same path. The Jets rookie saw major minutes at QB and did not disappoint.

7 Robin Williams films that defined our childhood | Vogue Paris- Today marks the fourth anniversary of the beloved actor/comedians death. Williams died from suicide and left an adoring family and fans too soon.
