Good morning to you wonderful people.

If you aren’t watching the NBA Summer League then you are missing out on some of your favorite Kentucky Wildcats shining on the professional level. Last night Malik Monk, Dakari Johnson, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander all took the court and all three were the best players on their teams.

You can catch Kevin Knox, Bam Adebayo and more today. Here is the Summer League Schedule for the weekend.

Tweets of the Day

One thing we know is that video games do a great job of predicting NFL success (sarcasm font).

Quickies

Should Kentucky or Kansas be #1? | CBS- Gary Parrish asks this question and honestly you can’t go wrong with either team. Both are loaded with veterans and new young talent.

UK ranked as a top Power 5 conference team | Cats Pause- Kentucky comes in at #17 on the list out of 65 teams. Mitch Barnhart has done a great job across all of the programs at UK.

Malik Monk stands out | NBA.com- The NBA highlights Monk in their Day 4 Stand Out rundown:

Malik Monk, Charlotte Hornets

The No. 11 pick of the 2017 Draft had an up-and-down rookie season, but will have a clean slate with a new coach – James Borrego – in Charlotte. His Summer League got off to a solid start on Friday, with 23 points on 9-for-16 shooting in the Hornets’ win over Oklahoma City. Monk still has to work on his playmaking skills, but he shot 4-for-9 from 3-point range and was a plus-13 in a one-point win.

Former UofL All-American Dies | WDRB- Clifford Rozier was a standout for Denny Crum’s Cardinals in the nineties. After a stellar career at UofL, Rozier was drafted 16th overall by the Warriors but never caught on long-term in the NBA. He battled drug addiction as well as mental health problems. He died of a heart attack at 45.

DeMarcus Cousins not rushing return | ESPN- Boogie is in the perfect situation with Golden State. They have enough talent to be successful without him so he feels no pressure to rush his return. But the potential of this team when he is healthy makes for one of the best units to ever step on the court in the history of the Association.

Tony Parker leaves Spurs, joins Hornets | CBS- It’s the end of an era in San Antonio as another one of the Big Three is no longer on the team. One has to wonder where the Spurs go from here. Once the steadiest and most successful organization in the league has devolved into a team surrounded by questions.

Bret Bielema to Kansas? | Sporting News- After an underwhelming stint at Arkansas, Bielema has yet to find a job. But he may be a Jayhawk before it’s all over. He will be tasked with trying to find success at one of the worst spots for college football.

Spider Man co-creator dead at 90 | CNN- Steve Ditko, along with Stan Lee, was responsible for creating one of the most iconic comic book superheroes in the world. Ditko was also credited with creating Dr. Strange and was a successful comic book artist.

Keanu Reeves confirms John Wick 3 title | Collider- Coming off of two successful installments, Reeves is ready for John Wick 3: Parabellum. So what does ‘parabellum’ mean? “Prepare for War”. I’m all in.
