Thursday Quickies: Recruiting Hot Streak Edition

Mark Stoops and Co. are on a roll.

NCAA Football: Music Bowl-Kentucky vs Northwestern Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Kentucky recruiting headlines are usually dominated by John Calipari and his basketball staff, but over the last couple weeks, Mark Stoops and his assistants have been raking in commitments.

The UK football program has gotten eight commitments in the last month, and the last two of those came on the 4th of July. Three-star wide receiver DeMarcus Harris and three-star tight end Nikolas Ognenovic both made verbal commitments to Kentucky during the holiday.

The class of 2019 now has 14 commits and ranks No. 38 in the nation (11th in the SEC). Thus far, the class consists entirely of three-star players on 247 Sports’ rankings.
