Kira Lewis has cut Kentucky out of his recruitment.
The 2019 point guard (who might still reclassify to 2018) announced his top 12 of Alabama, Kansas, Ole Miss, Baylor, Auburn, Providence, LSU, TCU, Iowa State, Indiana, Houston and Georgia.
Lewis is a five-star point guard from Hazel Green, Alabama. He’s ranked the No. 30 player in the 247 Sports Composite.
We still don’t know what class Lewis will be in. He’s still considering a move to the 2018 class, and said he would consider it more after the July live period (that time is now). Kentucky was not on his scholarship list, which is now 32 schools long.
The Wildcats had shown interest though, and it seemed likely that John Calipari would be able to make headwaves in his recruitment if he stayed in the class of 2019. Lewis even said he thought an offer from Kentucky was coming, but now, that seems highly unlikely.
It looks like Kentucky is out, but it also looks like the Wildcats will likely have to face Lewis regardless of what class he ends up in. Five of the teams on his final 12 are from the SEC, and Alabama is the favorite to land him, holding 100 percent of the predictions in his crystal ball.
Lewis actually played with Kentucky target James Wiseman briefly on the AAU circuit in July.
