The summer recruiting circuit is heating up with the Peach Jam set to take place next week.
Ahead of arguably the biggest recruiting event every year, Rivals.com has updated their rankings for the top 150 players in the Class of 2019.
The top 10 is littered with UK targets, the highest of which being Vernon Carey, who now holds the No. 1 spot, followed by Cole Anthony at No. 2.
James Wiseman is now the No. 3 overall recruit, which really speaks to how good this class is at the top that a recruit like Wiseman would be third in any ranking. He still has a strong case to be this class’ best player when the final rankings are set.
UK commitment Tyrese Maxey is the No. 7 overall recruit, and it won’t be a surprise if he climbs even further between now and the final rankings next spring.
Fellow UK commit DJ Jeffries is now up to No. 45 overall. He had dipped into the 50s, so it’s good to see him getting some boost to his stock this summer.
Matthew Hurt is now No. 5 overall, though it looks like he’s going to end up at Kansas.
Isaiah Stewart, who UK may be getting back into the mix for, is now No. 6 overall.
UK targets Bryan Antoine and Scottie Lewis hold the No. 12 and 13 spots respectively. It looks like Antonie will end up at Duke, while Lewis is more of a wildcard at this stage in his recruitment.
Keion Brooks, arguably the likeliest to pick UK in this class right now, is No. 15. He’s had a tremendous spring and summer, which could push him even high up the rankings this fall.
Jalen Lecque took a big dip down to No. 18. He does hold an offer from UK, but it feels like John Calipari may be starting to focus on other guys in this class.
One of them could be Kira Lewis, who is now ranked No. 28 overall. Lewis took an unofficial visit to UK this summer, and it’s very possible he takes an official visit later this year.
Former UK target KyKy Tandy is now ranked No. 87 overall. It appears UK has moved on from the University Heights star, which is unfortunate because he’s a really nice recruit that could be a great 3-4 year player for whichever school he picks.
