Pendleton County star Dontaie Allen has been on Kentucky’s radar for a while, but his chances of getting an offer from John Calipari may have increased drastically this week.
KSR is now reporting that Kentucky may be on the verge of offering Allen, who has been lighting up the Under Armour event in Cartersville (GA) this week, which is not far from where the Peach Jam is taking place.
Kentucky assistant Tony Barbee saw Allen put up 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists in a loss on Wednesday night. Barbee was back again this morning and the Falmouth, KY native was even more impressive with 33 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds.
To be putting up those kind of numbers against that level of competition on that stage is very impressive. This is the kind of event where many elite players start to separate themselves from the back, and it seems Allen may be playing his way into the fold as a star prospect.
Has been an impressive showing from Dontaie Allen. 2019 guard out of Kentucky can go and get a bucket. One of the better scorers off the bounce that I’ve seen this summer.

Listed as a three-star prospect in the 2019 class, the 6’6” forward continues to rise in the rankings and draw looks from prominent Division I programs. Just this morning, it was announced that he has received a scholarship offer from SEC rival Florida.

His growing popularity was obvious Wednesday night as coaches Mike Krzyzewski, Bill Self, Tom Izzo, Bob Huggins, Rick Stansbury, and Chris Mack were court side to watch Allen play. He takes the court again this afternoon, so perhaps Calipari will be in attendance.
While many Kentucky fans are hoping for an offer to come soon, he’s likely on the verge of several more offers from top schools. Allen already has offers from several schools including Xavier, Purdue, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Nevada, and Vanderbilt.
Big Blue Nation always loves having an in-state guy on the roster. Is Allen going to be that guy for the next few years?
