The University of Kentucky’s Athletic Department has caught some recent criticism for not paying enough attention to the average fan, especially in regard to ticket prices, renovations at Kroger Field and Rupp Arena, and with regard to alcohol sales.
It looks like UK AD Mitch Barnhart plans to hit the road, along with coaches, student-athletes, and others to meet and connect with fans across the Bluegrass in a couple weeks.
The “Big Blue Caravan” was announced by the Athletics Department this morning, which will have stops in five counties across the state.
“The connection our university and athletics department share with this state and its people is truly unique,” Barnhart said in a press release. “That connection has always been central to our identity, but we have made it a priority to find ways to further honor and strengthen it. We look forward to seeing friends in these five communities and meeting many more.”
We love the Commonwealth. We love it so much we’re going to tour it later this month.
