Former UK star DeMarcus Cousins has flown under the radar in the midst of a ton of free agency madness, though he may not be part of it much longer.

According to Woj (via Bleacher Report), Cousins is now likely to re-sign with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Cousins, one of the best bigs in the game, is an unrestricted free agent this summer, and despite having an injury history that’s holding him back while LeBron James, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard get all the attention, he’ll still be a sought-after superstar.

Cousins was a monster in 2017-18, averaging 25.2 points and 12.9 rebounds in his first full season with the New Orleans Pelicans, but he suffered an Achilles injury and played just 48 games.

New Orleans’ potential with Cousins playing alongside Anthony Davis is unreal, but as Davis continues to put up All-NBA seasons and earn NBA-record contracts, keeping another star like Cousins is going to be pretty hard. That’s why Cousins walking now seems like a real possibility.

For what it’s worth, former Cleveland Cavaliers general manager David Griffin allegedly said Cousins will go to the Los Angeles Lakers, but that’s looking unlikely at this point.

As teams chase the bigger names, Cousins will be quite the consolation prize if he remains on the market and other teams become desperate to find a star.

For now, it looks like Boogie and the Brow will remain a team.
