N’faly Dante and Scottie Barnes, both of which have received offers from Kentucky, were praised for their play in the Nike EYBL by basketball recruiting Rivals analyst Corey Evans.
The Nike basketball league finished recently, and for many players, it was one of their last chances to show off their skillset to college scouts. For young players N’Faly Dante and Scottie Barnes, who are in the class of 2020, this was an early look at what they could bring to the table down the road.
Rivals analyst Evans gave out some awards, and both Kentucky Wildcat targets received a mention.
Scottie Barnes was labeled the “Biggest Mismatch” for opposing players. Barnes is a 6’8” 200 lbs small forward. Barnes is the type of player who can help you out in every facet of the game. His value doesn't just come from his ability to score, it comes from his ability to help others score. This skill is what truly makes him the biggest mismatch. He has the true court awareness to see the right play to make and get his teammates involved. This is a rare trait in young players that I think will put him above other high school ballers.
N’faly Dante was the other Kentucky prospect and he was awarded “Best Shot Blocker”. Dante is a 6’10” 225 center. Dante has a tremendous mind for defense to go along with his natural length and strength. His timing mixed with his raw athleticism makes for a terrifying combo within 15 feet.
With both players receiving offers from Kentucky for the 2020 season we can only hope they continue to grow their game and bring it to Lexington.
