Kentucky Wildcats walk-on Brad Calipari will be playing basketball in Europe this summer with the Global Sports Academy.
The team, made up of 10 college players, will travel to Belgium, Germany and Holland over an eight-day period. The team will be coached Joe Meehan, a Bucknell assistant. The team will play five games against professional competition in the area, including Cologne and Leverkusen in Germany and Leuven.
Calipari participated in this trip last year when the team went to Croatia. He averaged 14.3 points, 6.5 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game on that tour. That included a closing game in which Calipari scored 19 points, dished seven assists and grabbed four rebounds, all trip-highs for him.
The Global Sports Academy was incorporated in 1991 to create and arrange athletic competition on an international scale.
Calipari, a rising junior, has made 26 appearance in his Kentucky career. He has 11 career points coming off of three 3-pointers.
