Carey is the second-overall ranked recruit and first-overall ranked power forward in the 2019 class. Standing 6-9, 245 pounds with a great low-post game, he’s bound to be a star with when he reaches the collegiate level.
Depending on who you listen to, Duke and Miami are viewed as the two leaders in this recruitment, but UK has been getting more buzz recently. UK met with him twice during the spring recruiting period, showing that they’re very serious about landing him in 2019, despite being strongly in the mix for fellow 2019 big man James Wiseman.
There have also been rumors that Carey is mulling over a move into 2018, though he’s denied them.
