Good morning Big Blue Nation. I hope you all had similar Saturdays to the one I had yesterday. I spent it outside doing yard work (which I love), going to a cookout with friends,
and ended by watching Thunder Over Louisville from the top of Iroquois Park.In between all of that, I was able to catch some of the New Orleans Pelicans (Wildcats) vs. Portland Trailblazers playoff game. Something immediately hit me: the Blazers had no answer for Anthony Davis on offense or on defense.
Davis set a franchise record in a playoff game by scoring 47 points to help the Pelicans sweep the Blazers in their opening playoff series. He also had 11 rebounds.
Former Cat Rajon Rondo had seven points and sixteen assists as he continues to revive his career in the Big Easy.
When Demarcus Cousins went down for the season with an Achilles injury, many wrote off the Pelicans. But thanks to the play of Davis, Rondo, and Jrue Holiday, the team has elevated to another level and Alvin Gentry has something brewing.
