John Wall stepped up in a big way with his team down 2-0 in the series

Entering the playoffs, the Washington Wizards were put up to the task of facing the No. 1 seed in the East Toronto Raptors.

After dropping the first two games on the road, the Wizards returned home in a must-win game to try and climb their way back into the series. Luckily, John Wall showed up in a big way in Game 3.

For Wall, Game 1 was a high scoring night, but he didn’t shoot the ball particularly well. He finished with 23 points but only shot 30%, going 6/20 from the floor, but he did rack up 15 assists in a 114-106 loss.

Game 2 was a much better shooting night for Wall, scoring 29 points on 9/17 shooting (52%). He was just one assist away from having a double-double. However, the ending was the same with the Raptors taking a 2-0 series lead with a 130-119 win.

Game 3 was a must-win situation for the Wizards. The Wizards found themselves up one, 30-29 at the end of the first and extended that lead to 8, 69-61 at halftime.

The Wizards put on a show in the third quarter as they were able to take a 101-82 lead into the 4th. The Raptors cut into the lead for a stint in the 4th, but ultimately, Wall and the Wizards would step up and come away with a 122-103 win in a very crucial game.

Wall continued his good shooting from game two shooting a nice 52% in game three. He finished with a double-double of 28 points and 14 assists, but he was just 4 rebounds away from a triple-double.

While Wall was doing it by scoring and playmaking, he had help on the scoring from Bradley Beal who also scored 28 helping the Wizards get the win.

If the Wizards are going to have any shot at coming back to win this series, Wall must play to this level game in and game out, and I don’t see any reason he shouldn’t with the talent level he is on.

The Wizards will try and even up the series Sunday night in game four at home. That game will tipoff at 6:00 PM on TNT.
