John Calipari stopped by to watch Pennsylvania four-star point guard Ethan Morton in action Tuesday night, according to Rivals’ Corey Evans.
Morton is currently ranked 50th in the Class of 2020 according to Rivals. The 6’5 point guard holds offers from Ohio State, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, and Wisconsin, among others. Indiana, Michigan, Purdue, and Virginia have also shown interest.
Morton is more of a combo guard, as 247 has him listed as a shooting guard in the class. With a 6’9 wingspan, he has a lot of defensive potential.
This recruitment could be an interesting one to follow. Morton isn’t one of the top players in the class, but could be a guy that Calipari sees as a player who could be a multi-year guy, as well as someone who can shoot the ball well, a trait Calipari and the Kentucky coaches are placing an increased value on.
There hasn’t been a ton of mentions of Kentucky when it comes to Morton, so we will have to see how his recruitment and Kentucky’s involvement continue to develop.
Meanwhile, here is a video of Morton in action.
