Quickies: KAT in the Playoffs Edition

Karl-Anthony Towns has led the Timberwolves to a postseason berth.

NBA: Denver Nuggets at Minnesota Timberwolves Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

Another former Wildcat is flourishing in the NBA. Karl-Anthony Towns and the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Denver Nuggets in overtime last night to clinch the eight seed in the West for the NBA playoffs.

Towns averaged 21 points and 12 rebounds this season. He’ll now lead his Timberwolves into a matchup with the Houston Rockets, where they’ll probably be lucky to make it five games or more.

But hey, it’s progress for the former UK big man and a Minnesota team that could become a legitimate threat in the West if Towns continues to develop.
