Despite having one of the lowest attendance records in recent memory, UK fans were still out in full force for home basketball games this season.
For the 20th time in the last 23 seasons, UK led the country in average home attendance in the regular season with an average of 21,875 fans per game.
Since Rupp Arena opened for the 1976-77 season, UK has ranked either first or second in average home attendance every season.
The Kentucky Wildcats have averaged more than 23,000 fans at Rupp Arena in seven of John Calipari’s nine seasons at Kentucky.
Playing 18 home games in 2017-18, 393,743 fans attended games in Rupp Arena. UK’s top attendance this season was 24,394 on Jan. 20 vs. Florida.
This wasn’t the season UK fans envisioned of their team when the season began with the Cats in the top 10 of every major poll, but it was still a fun year in Rupp, where the Cats went 16-2 and won every non-conference game.
What was your favorite moment at home for the Cats this season?
