UK’s interest in KyKy Tandy continues to heat up.

The Kentucky Wildcats don’t currently have a scholarship player from the state of Kentucky, and it appears unlikely that will change next season.

However, UK could end up with a Kentucky player in the Class of 2019 in the form of Dekeyvan ‘KyKy’ Tandy. The four-star guard has enjoyed a special junior season at University Heights Academy, ranking fourth in the state in scoring at over 30 points per game.

Tandy has already led his team to a district championship, and he is now vying for a Second Region title. According to Chris Fisher, UK assistant Joel Justus will watch Tandy on Monday as UHA faces Christian County in the Second Region final.

Tandy’s recruitment has begun to heat up recently, as he’s scored offers from Iowa State, Tennessee, Cincinnati, Florida, WKU and Oklahoma among others.

UK has shown more interest recently, though a scholarship offer hasn’t come yet. Tandy has already taken an unofficial visit to UK. Thus far, the only crystal ball pick logged for Tandy is Oklahoma.

If Tandy is willing to wait until the fall or possibly even the spring, that may give UK enough time to figure out who they’ll get in the 2019 class. They’ve already offered James Wiseman, Keion Brooks, D.J. Jeffries, Bryan Antoine, Scottie Lewis, Tyrese Maxey, Vernon Carey and Matthew Hurt.
