Here’s a sentence I never thought I’d write: Three American internet bloggers/trolls bought a basketball team in New Zealand and then offered the team’s head coaching position to Rick Pitino.
Much to the internet’s dismay and delight, Barstool Sports’ PFT Commenter, Big Cat and Hank Lockwood did just that.
The three are apart of an ownership team that bought the New Zealand Breakers. The ownership team also includes former NBA players Shawn Marion and Matt Walsh.
The gag is one of many jokes that the Pardon My Take crew has made at the expense of Pitino. They constantly make 15 seconds jokes, and they trolled him during his press conference following the NCAA’s decision to vacate Louisville’s 2013 National Championship.
Pitino didn’t really take too kindly to the offer. Seems like he’s holding out for a bigger offer, which, let’s be honest, might never come.
