Some unexpected news is coming out Sunday night.
No, it’s not just UK’s latest Region of Death seeding in the NCAA Tournament. This is actually good news...maybe.
Class of 2019 forward D.J. Jeffries announced on Twitter that he will make his college decision on Monday night.

It’s uncommon for recruits in the following year’s class to commit this early. After all, the 2018 is still full of big-name uncommitted as the spring signing period hasn’t even arrived yet, but Jeffries is apparently ready to make his decision.
Is that a good thing for UK, who has already offered Jeffries a scholarship?
Jeffries was thought to be pretty open with his recruitment. He’s got 18 offers, and is being recruited by the likes of UK, Texas A&M, Florida, LSU, Georgia, Alabama, USC, Ole Miss, Missouri, Mississippi State, Wake Forest, Wichita State and North Carolina among others. That kind of list speaks to how big of a recruit Jeffries is.
And wouldn’t you know it, UK is getting all of his 247 Crystal Ball picks, so for now, it looks like the Cats are about to land their first 2019 pledge. Jeffries is ranked No. 26 overall in the 2019 class by 247 Sports Composite.
Remember, John Calipari just watched Jeffries last week, so perhaps it was then where Jeffries decided he wanted to be a Wildcat.
