Updated Bracketology has Kentucky Wildcats on the Move

Can the Cats move up a seed line with a win today?

The Kentucky Wildcats were a five seed out West before they pummeled the Alabama Crimson Tide by 23 yesterday in the SEC Tournament.

Joe Lunardi still has them as a five seed but he’s moved them to the East.

Overall this is a tougher bracket than the one they were in yesterday with Xavier as the one, Purdue as the two, and Auburn as the three. But the four out West would have been Arizona and that is one time that Kentucky needs to avoid in a second round game.

Jerry Palm also has Kentucky as a five seed with West Virginia as the four but his projection has them out West with Xavier as the one, North Carolina as the two, and Michigan as the three.

Does Kentucky have a shot at bumping up a seed line if they beat the Tennessee Volunteers today? History doesn’t favor that as winning the SEC tournament really hasn’t factored into benefitting the Cats in the past. But beating Tennessee, which is a universal three seed, may indeed be enough to make the committee think about it.
