Kentucky vs Alabama Game Thread

The Wildcats fight for a spot in the SEC title game.

NCAA Basketball: Alabama at Kentucky Mark Zerof-USA TODAY Sports

The Kentucky Wildcats and Alabama Crimson Tide are set to face off for a spot in the SEC Championship Game.

We’ll see today just how much momentum can play in basketball, because if you’re the Tide, there’s not a bigger momentum boost than this:

The Tide promptly followed that up with an 18-point thrashing of the Auburn Tigers yesterday, so it’s safe to say Alabama is hot right now as they look ready to make some noise in the NCAA Tournament.

But Kentucky certainly seems the better team. The Wildcats beat the Tide by 10 in the regular season, which ignited a four-game win streak and put the NIT talks to rest down the stretch. The Cats also rolled past the Georgia Bulldogs yesterday without Jarred Vanderbilt.

John Calipari essentially ruled Vanderbilt out for the Alabama game, so the Wildcats will need to keep rolling without Number 2 once again if they want to make all the way to the SEC Championship.

Tipoff is slated for 1 p.m. on ESPN. Keep it locked to this story for game discussion!
