It looks like Shareef O’Neal may not end up at UK after all.

Almost as soon as the son of Shaquille O’Neal decommitted from the Arizona Wildcats, UK was viewed as a logical landing spot, and a pair of current signees even began recruiting him.

But now, it appears the UCLA Bruins are coming on strong in O’Neal’s recruitment. According to a report from TMZ, O’Neal is “leaning toward signing with UCLA.”

Since that report has come out, O’Neal’s crystal ball has received picks in favor of UCLA, including one from national recruiting analyst Jerry Meyer.

It makes perfect sense for O’Neal to sign with a team on the west coast. That was a big factor in his decision to pick Arizona, so it won’t be a surprise to see him land with another Pac-12 school.

The Oregon Ducks have been mentioned as another possible suitor for the 6-9 power forward, who is ranked No. 33 overall in the 247 Sports Composite

In other words, O’Neal looks very unlikely for UK...for now.
