For those who have been talking about Kentucky recruiting in-state kids, there is a new player to keep an eye on.
Dekeyvan “KyKy” Tandy, which sounds like a perfect name for a future Kentucky Wildcat, will be on campus for a visit during Kentucky’s game against Missouri.
Tandy has been a sensation in high school basketball this year, averaging more than 30 points per game for University Heights Academy and is fresh off leading his team to a district tournament title with a 43-point game in the championship and will certainly have his UHA squad contending for a region title and a trip to Rupp Arena for the Sweet 16.
According to Chris Jung, sports editor at the Kentucky New Era newspaper in Hopkinsville and someone who has covered Tandy and UHA extensively, Tandy recently heard from the Kentucky coaching staff.
After scoring 43 points in a district championship win last night, UHA 2019 guard KyKy Tandy got a call from Kentucky this morning.

Tandy also visited Kentucky on the same day last year to see Kentucky defeat Florida 76-66.

Tandy is just a junior, but the offers are continuing to come in. Most recently, Tennessee and Cincinnati have offered him. You may remember, Scotty Hopson was a UHA product who left to go south to play for the Volunteers and had quite a career there.
Western Kentucky, Oklahoma, and New Mexico State have also offered.
It remains to be seen if Tandy will receive an offer from Kentucky in the near future or if they will try to tell him to hold off for a little bit, like they did with last year’s Mr. Basketball Taveion Hollingsworth, who instead opted to go to WKU.
It seems, however, that Kentucky will need to stay connected to Tandy as more offers are likely to come rolling in, especially if he can lead UHA to the state tournament.
Here are some highlights of Tandy in action.
