Kentucky Football Recruiting: Chris Oats visiting UK ahead of National Signing Day

After canceling a trip to Ohio State, Oats is now set to visit UK.

@ChristopherOats

Ohio has always been good to Kentucky in recruiting.

We’ve seen some great recruits come from there, the most recent being Lynn Bowden in the 2017 class. Now, the Cats are after the top linebacker from Ohio in the 2018 class.

Chris Oats is ranked 325th in the nation, and he’s the 22nd best linebacker in the country. He’s extremely talented and would be one of the biggest gets we’ve seen from Mark Stoops, Vince Marrow, and Kentucky Football.

Oats was expected to visit Ohio State this week, but a change of plans led to Oats not only canceling that visit, but he’ll now make a trip to Lexington this weekend, according to KSR.

Adding to that, the 247 Crystal Ball has gotten a lot of predictions for Kentucky this week after a string of Ohio State picks made it appear the Buckeyes were leading.

Stoops and Kentucky have already had some of the recruiting classes we’ve ever seen. The vibes around the program are getting better and better, and getting Oats would be huge for future recruits too.

Other schools that are in the mix are; Ohio State, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Louisville. As you can see, there’s some very stiff competition, but Vince Marrow has been working on getting Oats in Lexington for a long time.

Expect this race to get even closer as we draw closer to signing day.
