Kentucky’s recruitment of Tyrese Maxey continues to heat up,.

After John Calipari watched Maxey late last week, the five-star point guard then went to Saturday’s game between Kentucky and Texas A&M.

Now, Maxey has set a visit to Lexington for Kentucky’s matchup with Alabama this Saturday, according to Rivals reporter Corey Evans. This would seem to bode well for Kentucky’s chances at landing the talented guard, who’s ranked as the second-best point guard by 247 in addition to being the No. 17 overall player.

Maxey currently holds offers from Kentucky, Michigan State, SMU, Arizona State, Baylor, Florida State, Texas, UCLA and LSU among others. The crystal ball currently favors SMU, largely because they hired Tyrese’s father, Tyrone Maxey.

Even so, Calipari usually comes out of the fall with his point guard signed for the next class. Maxey looks like the guy Calipari wants for 2019.
