Before the loss to the Texas A&M Aggies, the Kentucky Wildcats had never lost three games in a row in the John Calipari ear. That streak was snapped last now as the Cats went down 85-74.
UK went into halftime with a 30-26 lead and Big Blue Nation was feeling good about things. The Aggies opened up the second half on a 14-2 run and they went 6-6 for their first six three pointers. After that it was all she wrote.
The truth is this team isn’t fun to watch. There is no energy on the floor. They have a basketball IQ of zero. There isn’t a real pro on the team. And they don’t listen to their coach.
There is one game left on the schedule, vs. Ole Miss, that I feel good about; the rest of the games could very well be losses.
And the NIT is on the table.
Tweets of the Day
Texas A&M students serenading John Calipari with "Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you!" I believe I saw a pained, teeth-gritting grin from Cal.

Not the birthday gift Cal had in mind.
Kentucky's +/- leader tonight was Brad Calipari (+4). I'm sure I am only the second person to notice this, after Ellen Calipari.

Honestly if some of the guys continue to play like they have been, I’m fine with Brad Calipari getting minutes. He gives a sustained effort. He had as many defensive rebounds as Nick Richards: one.
Quickies
UK’s other three game losing streaks | Cats Illustrated- The Wildcats have never advanced to the tournament when they lost three in a row since the 1989-1990 season. Welp.
BPI has Kentucky with a 97% chance in making the tournament | ESPN- It’s a good thing every other team in the country is losing right now. If it were any other year, the Cats would be in BIG trouble.
John Calipari- ‘It’s getting old’ | SEC Country- One of the first things that John Calipari said when he sat down for his press conference was “I’m not cracking”. I believe in Cal and so does Big Blue Nation, but does his team? While Cal has faith in his team turning it around, their play and their not listening to him is getting old.
Kentucky skids further into mediocrity | Courier-Journal- I think mediocre is the perfect adjective for this team and their attitude. What I wouldn’t give for Tyler Ulis or Isaiah Briscoe to be on this team and get in someone’s face. They are missing the toughness that those guys had.
Four problems Kentucky faces after losing to A&M | WDRB- Eric Crawford nails it with every single point he makes. Also he said he lost his panic button. Maybe it's around here with mine.
What is actually on a NCAA tournament resume? | CBS Sports- The NCAA is set to release their top 16 teams at 12:30 PM today and Kentucky will be nowhere near it. The good thing is they will check off a lot of the boxes on the resume. But they have to stop losing at some point.
Isaiah Thomas shines but Lakers lose in his debut | ESPN- Thomas went for 22 points and six assists last night is his debut as a Laker but ultimately lost to the Mavericks.
