For the second-straight Saturday, it appears the Kentucky Wildcats will be road underdogs.
This time, it’s against the Missouri Tigers, who are fresh off an impressive road win at Alabama. Sure, the Crimson Tide may be 13-8, but they’ve got as impressive of a home resume as anyone in the nation, including wins over No. 11 Auburn, No. 12 Oklahoma and No. 22 Rhode Island.
Needless to say, it was an impressive win for the Tigers, who ESPN BPI is giving the edge in Saturday’s matchup with the Cats:
There’s no doubt it will be another tough environment, as the Tigers have some impressive wins this season, including a home triumph over No. 18 Tennessee.
KenPom also projects the Cats to be underdogs, giving Missouri a 56-percent chance of winning and projecting a 72-70 win for the Tigers.
If we’re comparing Missouri to other teams Kentucky has faced on the road, you’d probably have to put the Tigers ahead of Vanderbilt, South Carolina (who Missouri beat on the road), and LSU.
Kentucky barely pulled off wins at Vanderbilt and LSU, then blew a late lead at South Carolina. It’s clear that Saturday is going to be a very tough test for the Cats, but we’ve seen they have enough talent to pull it off.
