It was a game unlike any other the No. 9 Kentucky has played so far this season.
Defense was at a premium and offense was hard to find for much of the afternoon in the Big Apple.
Then chaos ensued when Miles Powell hit a wild three to give Seton Hall a three-point advantage with a second and a half on the clock.
Then the unthinkable...
KELDON JOHNSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!! pic.twitter.com/QFkIW0kdVC

A half court buzzer beater by Keldon Johnson sent the Citi Hoops classic into overtime.
Without a fouled out Reid Travis and a struggling Tyler Herro on the bench there was too much to overcome for the Cats in overtime.
Despite Johnson’s outstanding effort, the Cats fell to Seton Hall 84-83 as the Pirates nailed a three in the final seconds.
Though it was the Cats best defensive game for much of the first half, the offense was off as Kentucky shot just 44.3% from the field.
Kentucky is still very much a work in progress and has to find ways to win away from Rupp Arena as they’re now 0-2 away from home this season.
Here are the best social media reactions from the loss:
Lot of passionate fans in the @TheGarden today but no topping these four. pic.twitter.com/XSyccaWTmR

Was there really just a Grayson Allen-Tyler Herro comparison?
— John Morgan Francis (@MonJorgan) December 8, 2018
Kentucky has found its point guard. Not only is Hagans a stopper on the defensive end but he’s starting to get it on the offensive end.

So far this game is setting Offensive Basketball back to the Dark Ages

23 missed shots in a row for both teams...

For real... is it just me or do these seem like carnival rims at MSG? Brutal watch.

Kentucky’s best offense is give it to Reid Travis on the block and let him go through someone’s chin.

Still not use to this. That doesn’t even sound right... https://t.co/Es1KHjHzAg
Reid Travis is Kentucky’s life raft.
— Kyle Tucker (@KyleTucker_ATH) December 8, 2018
(The Wildcats might drown anyway, but they’d already be on the bottom of the ocean without him.)
Karl Towns, Sr. just saw a friend from Seton Hall and yelled, "We're finished messing around with you guys" with a big smile.
— John Clay (@johnclayiv) December 8, 2018
UK just not making Seton Hall pay for keeping 5 defenders inside the arc. Post-ups and drives are just engaging 2-3 defenders to swarm.

.@MikeSafo I’d like to report a pick pocket, his name is Ashton Hagans

WOW. Cats give up the go-ahead three with nine seconds left and Keldon Johnson can’t hit one last onions shot (or draw the foul).

FINAL: Seton Hall 84, Kentucky 83 (OT)
Good fight but brutal loss for the Cats.
We’ve lost 2 games. Are 7-2. We were just beaten in overtime in MSG - an instant classic - and I have to look at my TL and see some fools spewing “NIT” and “we’re a 9-seed”? We’ranked 9th in the country.
— Rex Chapman (@rex_rexchapman) December 8, 2018
Must be nice to only love our ‘Cats when we win. Smh.@UKSportsNetwork
Nobody wants a moral victory/Kentucky tweet. I get it. But PJ Washington was a star. Ashton Hagans is coming along. Reid Travis was excellent until he fouled out. And they always get better through the season, every year. Theyll be fine in the long run, even if its not pretty now

Tyler Herro has now missed 32 of his first 44 threes this season
— Jonathan Wasserman (@NBADraftWass) December 8, 2018
Calipari hates late-game timeouts. Kentucky fans hate that Calipari hates late-game timeouts. Given what slop the offense has been and how panicked that was with the freshman point guard at the end, probably should’ve taken a late-game timeout.
— Kyle Tucker (@KyleTucker_ATH) December 8, 2018
The same fans ripping us today will have forgotten about it when we’re in the Final-4. They’ll act like they never said any of this disheartening stuff.
— Rex Chapman (@rex_rexchapman) December 8, 2018
At Kentucky there is winning and misery. Sometimes even the winning is misery. This place ain’t for everyone.@UKSportsNetwork
