Hoping to continue its run of recent strong play, the Kentucky Wildcats make a holiday trek to the Big Apple to participate in the Citi Hoops Holiday Classic on Saturday at legendary Madison Square Garden.

Their opponent in the Garden will be the Seton Hall Pirates. The contest is scheduled to tip at noon and will be carried by Fox.

The #9 Wildcats (7-1) come into the match up on a seven-game winning streak following their season opening loss to Duke in the Champions Classic. Last Saturday, UK defeated UNC-Greensboro 78-61 in Rupp Arena behind a strong second half defensive effort led by guard Ashton Hagans on UNCG’s leading scorer Francis Alonzo.

Coach John Calipari has made it crystal clear that if the young Wildcats want to see playing time on the floor, they have to give maximum effort, especially on the defensive end.

The Cats come into this game featuring four players averaging double figures, including Keldon Johnson (15.9), Reid Travis (14.6), PJ Washington (12.1), and Tyler Herro (11.8). Washington leads the team in rebounding at 8.4 boards per contest.

The Pirates (5-3) are led by junior guard Myles Powell’s 22.4 points per game. Sophomore forward Sandro Mamukelashvili is the leading rebounder averaging 7.9 caroms per contest.

The game will tip on FOX at noon with Gus Johnson on the call. You can watch it online using FOX Sports GO, the Fox Sports GO app and fuboTV. You can listen to an online radio stream via UK Athletics.
