The Kentucky Wildcats are set to visit Jaden McDaniels yet again.

McDaniels has burst on the recruiting scene this summer and established himself as one of the elite recruits in the class of 2019. He was a top 100 prospect heading into this spring, but he had a strong spring and summer evaluation period, which helped him emerge as a consensus top five player in his class.
McDaniels is listed at 6-9, 190 pounds and is a versatile wing player who can do a little bit of everything. He plays his high school ball in Federal Way, Washington, so getting him from the West Coast all the way to Lexington will be a major challenge for John Calipari, who has already missed on several elite recruits in this class.
But never count out Calipari, and he’s certainly not backing down from this challenge. He’s made the trip to Seattle to see McDaniels on multiple occasions already this year. Seeing Calipari visit McDaniels again, albeit on the East Coast for once, shows just how much he wants McDaniels, and perhaps how real the possibility of him playing at Kentucky really is.
Calipari usually doesn’t spend much time recruiting players on the West Coast, so for him to make visit after visit to see McDaniels really speaks to how much he wants the top-five recruit.
Saying this, the Washington Huskies still look like the favorite in this recruitment, but that’s not stopping Calipari and his staff from keeping the full-court press on.
