The Kentucky Wildcats will have an early afternoon game in their SEC opener.
On Wednesday, it was announced that Kentucky’s clash with the Alabama Crimson Tide will be a 1 pm tip time on Jan 5. The game will be broadcast on ESPN. The SEC opener for both schools will come one week after Kentucky’s matchup with the Louisville Cardinals in their final December game.
While it’s still a ways away, ESPN’s matchup predictor is only giving Kentucky a 52.4-percent chance of winning. Alabama actually is off to a rocky start this season, as they’ve already suffered some bad losses, the worst of which actually came Tuesday.
There, Alabama built up a 22-point lead on Georgia State, only to watch the Panthers make a furious second-half rally and win on a buzzer-beating three-pointer. Thy also have losses to UCF and Northeastern.
