There was some growing concern among the Big Blue Nation yesterday after a story came out regarding Wandale Robinson potentially flipping to Nebraska.
Steve Wiltfong from 247 Sports said a flip to Nebraska could come as soon as this week, throwing Kentucky fans for a loop as many have assumed Nebraska was out of the hunt. Apparently that isn’t the case.
There is some good news. Robinson talked about being in touch with JJ Weaver and Jared Casey (who is a heavy UK target announcing his decision this week) so that sounds like someone who plans to sign with Kentucky.
But things change quickly in football recruiting, and a commitment is never a done deal until there is a signature on the dotted line.
Assuming that Robinson will certainly stick with Kentucky would not be a great decision because of the aforementioned uncertainty in football recruiting, but it would also be a reach to believe he will 100 percent flip. Both options are on the table, but there is no certainty here.
Mark Stoops and Vince Marrow will surely be in touch with Robinson soon, trying to ensure that with the early signing period beginning in just a couple weeks, Robinson plans to sign with the Wildcats.
Robinson is an incredible talent, and the conflicting reports about his upcoming signing should not take away from the fact that he is needed in Lexington.
With that said, all we can do is just stay tuned.
