Kentucky wants 5-star center Hunter Dickinson to visit

Calipari and Kentucky want to host the 5-star big man.

Hunter Dickinson is a 5-star big man out of DeMatha Catholic in Maryland.

Dickinson is a 7-2, 255 pound center with good offensive skill. But, no big name schools have been recruiting him heavily, at least to this point. This may be because he is in the class of 2020, but the major contenders to land the skilled big-man so far are the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (who is presumed the leader) and the Purdue Boilermakers.

Dickinson has taken official visits to both Notre Dame and Purdue, but Kentucky would like to eventually hop on that list as well.

“Kentucky has said they want me to do an unofficial visit with them as well as North Carolina,” Dickinson said in an interview with PrepCircuit.com.

You can read the full interview here.

Kentucky actually contacted Dickinson in the summer, but there hasn’t been much else to go on in this recruitment until now.

Dickinson said he plans on cutting his list to around five teams after the high school season is finished with. If Kentucky and John Calipari can get Dickinson on campus for an unofficial, Calipari might work his magic and land an official visit soon after.

As of now, Kentucky has offered just seven players in the 2020 class, and only one of them is a big man in N’Faly Dante.

Don’t be surprised if the Wildcats and John Calipari make Dickinson the next 2020 big man to score a UK offer.
