This was the Cats’ second-straight win over Louisville and John Calipari’s 10th win over the Cardinals while at UK, improving his record to 10-2 overall.
It was Tyler Herro who stole the show today for Kentucky, dropping a career-high 24 points and also grabbed five rebounds.
Ashton Hagans also impressed yet again with a season-high 11 points and another multiple-steal game with three.
Keldon Johnson kept up his hot play as well dropping 15 points with seven rebounds.
Louisville, despite not being on Kentucky’s level, was much better than the team Kentucky saw a year ago. Christen Cunningham led the way for the Cardinals with 20.
The difference in the game was points in the paint. Kentucky outscored Louisville 42-22 in that department.
Here are the best social media reactions to the Cats win over their rivals.

Bang!!! @raf_tyler hits another shot, this one a 3, to stretch the run to 9-0. Louisville needs a timeout.

That Offensive Foul on Quickley is one of the worst calls I have ever seen
— Matt Jones (@KySportsRadio) December 29, 2018
Herro was more productive than any player on the floor during the first half but that shot at the end was a pure boneheaded play.

Ha. That was just a brute-force bucket by Travis there over Enoch. Powered it up, missed, literally just clubbed it back up and in. "I mean," said one U of L fan behind me, "what can you even do?"

Officiating brutal for both sides today. Disappointing for one of the better college basketball matchups this season.

And also chanting "F--- Dan Dakich." I don't necessarily support this behavior, but Dakich loves being hated and takes great care to foster that reaction to him. https://t.co/PfAfEbuPtm

Louisville gets transfers from Sanford and Kentucky gets transfers from Stanford, really all you need to know about the talent imbalance currently at the two schools.
— Patric Geary (@PatricGeary92) December 29, 2018
Huge, huge, huge answers from @H23Ash. Just as Louisville went on a 6-0 run, Hagans countered with back-to-back baskets.

My in-depth analysis of this game is that Kentucky has much better players.
— Justin Rowland (@RowlandRIVALS) December 29, 2018
Ashton Hagans makes this Kentucky group an entirely different team. Just so active defensively, and took care of the ball against Louisville today. He ignited the Wildcats defensively, and Tyler Herro carried them offensively, especially early on. Kentucky clicking entering SEC.
