Selection Sunday is here.

UPDATE

It’s the Citrus Bowl!

It’s selection Sunday!

This afternoon, the No. 15 Kentucky Wildcats will learn where, who and what bowl game they will play in.

The Cats’ 9-3 record clinched their first nine-win season since 1977, which should line them up for their most significant bowl game in several years.

The Cats likely will miss out on the New Year’s Six but, many quality bowl games are still in play.

Here’s a look at the final projections before the big reveal.

Personal Prediction: Citrus Bowl vs. Penn State

The Citrus Bowl seems like Kentucky’s most logical destination since they will likely miss out on the new year’s six but, with their 9-3 record and being one of the top SEC teams left out of the New Year’s six this game seems to be the best fit.

One could argue an Outback Bowl for the Cats but, since LSU appeared in the Citrus Bowl last season, it would be a shock to see them placed there again.

Thus, I see Kentucky getting the Citrus and LSU in the Outback. Penn State who is also 9-3, seems to be the opponent who fits best as Northwestern and Kentucky met last season, and non-college football playoff rematches in bowl games are unusual.

Nonetheless, 2018 will go down as a success for Kentucky, and the Citrus Bowl would be an excellent place for Kentucky to show the world that their season was no fluke.

Wherever the Wildcats end up it will be an accomplishment and reason to celebrate.
