The Kentucky Wildcats just secured one of their biggest pledges in the Class of 2019.
On Wednesday, three-star defensive tackle Cavon Butler signed with Kentucky. He was strongly mulling a flip to Michigan State, who was getting a lot of buzz in the 247 Sports crystal ball leading into today.
The 6-3, 285 pound defensive tackle out of Toledo (OH) was the 15th commitment Mark Stoops’ 2019 class when he picked Kentucky in the summer. He also holds offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan State, West Virginia and Pittsburgh among others.
Butler, who committed to the Wildcats on August 3, 2018, has had the Spartans and Ohio State Buckeyes on his heels as of late, and Butler has visited the Michigan State campus twice this fall.
But in the end, Vince Marrow and Mark Stoops kept him in the fold.
