John Calipari and Tony Barbee watch Kahlil Whitney hit game-winner

Whitney is going to be special in Lexington.

When it comes to UK recruiting, much of the discussion lately has been around who John Calipari has missed on and who’s still on the board.

But don’t let that distract you from the fact that UK already has a great three-man class, of which Kahlil Whitney may end up being the best part of.

The five-star forward is at the Barclays Center as his Roselle Catholic squad took on Our Savior Lutheran in the Kyrie Invitational. He played in front of Calipari and assistant coach Tony Barbee, who were in attendance to see the UK commit in action.

Roselle Catholic actually trailed by four with under a minute to play, but Whitney hit a three to cut the deficit to 74-73, then tipped in the game-winning field goal to give his team a 75-74 victory.

That’s a great way to impress your future coach, and it only begins to show just how special of a player Whitney is. He finished with 25 points, six rebounds and four steals.
