Another week, another major honor for Kentucky Wildcats linebacker Josh Allen.

On Monday, Allen won the 2018 Jack Lambert Award, signifying the top linebacker in college football, by the Touchdown Club of Columbus, Ohio.

Allen is the first Wildcat to receive the honor, which has been given since 1991 and includes current NFL stars Khalil Mack, Luke Kuechly and Von Miller.

Allen will be presented with the award – named for Jack Lambert, Pittsburgh Steelers Hall of Famer – on February 9, 2019 at the annual Touchdown Club of Columbus awards banquet.

A senior out of New Jersey, Allen leads the 9-3 Wildcats with 84 tackles, and he leads the SEC in sacks (14), tackles for loss (18.5) and forced fumbles (5).

Allen has also won the Bronko Nagurski Award, Chuck Bednarik Award and Ronnie Lott IMPACT Trophy in addition to being a consensus First-Team All-American, the first Kentucky player to earn that distinction since Derek Abney in 2003.
