Elijah James commits to Kentucky

Kentucky bolsters its defensive line depth with a JUCO lineman.

The Kentucky Wildcats have scored a junior college Yahtzee.

On Sunday, Elijah James announced his commitment to Kentucky:

James is a 6-4, 300-pound defensive tackle from Iowa Western C.C. He doesn’t have any other reported offers. He is also teammates with fellow Kentucky JUCO commit JaVonte Richardson.

In high school, James played for Oswego East in Illinois. He signed with Central Michigan as a Class of 2018 recruit, but he wound up in the JUCO ranks. It paid off in a big way after he landed an SEC offer from Kentucky, where he’ll look to bolster the defensive line depth ahead of the early signing period, which begins on Wednesday.
