Kentucky visits 5-star forward Cade Cunningham

Cunningham is a top-10 recruit that is drawing more interest from the Wildcats.

The Kentucky Wildcats coaching staff didn’t have much remorse for Saturday’s loss to the Seton Hall Pirates in the Citi Hoops Classic.

Instead, they made the trip to Maryland to watch Cade Cunningham, a five-star member of the 2020 recruiting class, ranked seventh overall.

His team, Montverde, is the top-ranked team in the nation. In their win over Paul VI, Cunningham posted an all-around performance of eight points, nine assists and 10 rebounds.

Cunningham is currently without an offer from Kentucky. However, their interest following such a tough loss shows optimism for how they feel about the talented recruit. Judging by Saturday’s performance, Cunningham seems to be the all-around player Kentucky could build on for their future recruiting class.

Considering Cunningham would be surrounded by top-tier talent if he found his way to Kentucky, it’s reassuring that he seems to enjoy competing with such players (per PrepCircuit).

“It’s a bit different obviously with you being with other players that are so talented. I think the biggest thing is the competition with how we compete every day in practice. That’s been my favorite part about it.”

Then you’ve got the fact that the 247 Sports Crystal Ball has three early predictions in favor of Kentucky in this recruitment. Perhaps it’s only a matter of time until he scores an offer from Calipari.
