In case you missed it, LaMelo Ball is back on the high school basketball scene, and he’s still considered a Class of 2019 recruit.
However, Ball played overseas for a pro team, so it’s going to be hard for him to ever land on a college campus. It’s easy to forget he was once a five-star recruit in this class. Had he finished out his high school career and avoided the pro trip, he may have actually gotten recruited by some big-name schools.
As it turns out, Ball still hopes to be, and the Kentucky Wildcats are among the schools he’d like to hear from, along with the Duke Blue Devils, North Carolina Tar Heels, Kansas Jayhawks and Michigan State Spartans.
LaMelo Ball said he hopes to play college basketball at a top school. Mentioned North Carolina, Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, Michigan State.

First, there’s probably a good Kansas joke here I’m just going to avoid and let you come up with.
Second, no. John Calipari will never recruit a player with a father like LaVar Ball. It would certainly provide that of an HBO drama series, something Calipari has done his best to steer clear of ever since he came to Kentucky.
And frankly, the odds of Ball ever actually playing at an NCAA-affiliated college are very low. He’s probably going to end up in the G-League or overseas again as he looks to eventually get to the NBA, which also is unlikely to happen.
