Class of 2020 five-star point guard Jeremy Roach, who is a junior standout from Paul VI (V.A.), just announced last week that he has narrowed down his list to four schools, which includes the Duke Blue Devils, Kentucky Wildcats, North Carolina Tar Heels and Villanova Wildcats.
You usually don’t see players cut down their list of schools this early in the process, but it’s looking like Jeremy Roach is trying to bring his recruitment to a close sooner than expected.
In an interview with Prep Circuit, Roach talked about his recruitment and when a decision may come.
“My final four schools are Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Villanova” said Roach. “I chose this time to cut down my list because the season is coming up and I’m moving toward getting the process over with. I don’t have an exact time for when I’m going to commit, but it will be soon.”
On Kentucky, Roach added, “Kentucky came into the picture last year, but I’ve built a good relationship with them.”
Roach has made an unofficial visit with the Villanova. Duke, however, is the only program thus far to receive an official visit from Roach.
It is definitely way to early to tell anything in the recruiting process for the class of 2020, but it’s good to just have Kentucky in Roach’s top four schools.
Roach is the top point guard in the 2020 recruiting class, and the No. 16 overall player according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He’s a very young and talented point guard that will continue to develop next year and into his freshman year of college.
And with John Calipari’s history of recruiting elite point guards, don’t be surprised if he lands another one in Roach.
